Planimeter 2.0 is currently available as a free beta version, enhancing the functionality of its predecessor by providing a user-friendly tool for measuring area and distance on maps. This iteration supports an upgraded version of Google Maps, allowing for improved zoom capabilities and smoother map rotation.

The application is designed to enable users to efficiently outline properties or land, facilitating calculations related to distance, perimeter, and area. Below are some key features offered in this version:

 <li>Measure distance, area, and perimeter directly on the map</li>
 <li>Locate addresses using ZIP codes or GPS coordinates</li>
 <li>Access your current location via GPS</li>
 <li>Drop pins on the map through touch or GPS coordinates</li>
 <li>Utilize Target mode for precise pin placement</li>
 <li>Experience a full-screen viewing mode</li>
 <li>Engage in map rotation for versatile viewing angles</li>
 <li>Delete last or all points with a confirmation prompt</li>
 <li>Choose from Satellite, Terrain, and Hybrid map modes</li>
 <li>Convert calculated areas and distances into various units (hectares, kilometers, miles, etc.)</li>
</ul>

Additionally, Planimeter 2.0 offers several modes and settings that enhance usability:

 <li>Drawing mode: Quick landmark outlining (available in Pro version with subscription or free trial through ads)</li>
